The Edgewater Hotel has a long tradition of being a participant and supporter of local and multi-media arts.
The hotel has several resident businesses and guests with varying artistic affiliations.
Adam's Road
Adam's Road is a contemporary Christian band made up of six members from all around the country.
They are currently staying at the Edgewater Hotel. The band is busy recording their first album at Durbin Audio Designs, only a block away from the hotel.
In addition to performing and recording, the band also serves as staff members for the hotel's operations, under the direction of our innkeepers, Micah and Alicia Wilder. The
band recently completed a music video for their song "Crazy About Me" that was shot in and around the Edgewater Hotel and Winter Garden.
The Edgewater Hotel's sign, featured at the beginning of the video, was created by local Winter Garden artist Sue Thompson.
The video also features the band interacting with our friends from Plantation Jewelers, located just minutes away on Plant Street.
Hands in Art
Hands in Art is a multi-media production company founded by author, puppeteer, and performer, John E. Kennedy.
In addition to performing for the Muppets, Sesame Street, and in several movies and television programs, Kennedy has authored two books on pupeet-making, Puppet Mania
and Puppet Planet.
Hands in Art has had its headquarters at the Edgewater Hotel since its inception in 1999, and is often a participant in local projects and festivals.
Winter Garden Heritage Foundation
The Winter Garden Heritage Foundation is located on the first floor of the Edgewater Hotel. Its office serves not only
as a depository of historical information for the City and people of Winter Garden, but also as a welcoming and greeting station for those from out of town looking for information. As a patron of the
arts, the Heritage Foundation hosts the annual Music Fest, a free three day outdoor music celebration
held annually in downtown Winter Garden. The Heritage Foundation is also the driving force behind the restoration of the Garden Theater, which
will feature plays and vintage films beginning in January 2008.
